The long journey of over 600 kilometers from Moscow to St. Petersburg no longer means losing contact with the outside world. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has installed high-speed Internet for high-speed railway trains, which integrates low orbit satellites and traditional base stations, so that passengers can also access the Internet, make video calls and work calmly in the flying carriages. An information express lane connecting the two cities is being quietly paved.

High speed Internet service will cover the whole Moscow St. Petersburg high-speed railway, integrate low orbit satellite Internet and traditional base station technology, and provide communication capability with wider frequency band and greater data capacity. It is regarded as one of the most advanced train communication schemes at present. The line runs through six regions including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow Oblast, Tver Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, and Leningrad Oblast, with an expected departure interval of fifteen minutes during peak hours. The project has been incorporated into the overall design plan. The core goal is to equip high-speed trains with high-speed Internet, and use the latest technology to prop up the information artery for the speeding carriages, so that the scenery outside the window and the world in the screen can flow synchronously.

Networking blueprint connects all directions
It is expected that by 2030, the annual passenger transport volume between Moscow and St. Petersburg will reach about 23 million people. Looking further ahead, by 2045, the total length of Russia's high-speed railway network will exceed 4500 kilometers, with approximately 300 trains running through the entire network. In addition to this golden trunk line connecting the two cities, Russia also plans to build similar lines in Yekaterinburg, Adler, Liangzan, Minsk and other places, so that the high-speed railway network and high-speed Internet can extend outward synchronously, and more cities can be pulled into this expanding information network.
