Next to the drilling platform near Rio de Janeiro, a new batch of underwater operation equipment has been debugged, and Oce â nica's service team is preparing for the next round of offshore missions. Petrobras and local offshore service provider Oce â nica have signed a new long-term service contract, worth 354 million Brazilian reals, continuing their decades long industrial collaboration.

Expand underwater operation capability within a four-year service cycle
The total amount of this new contract is approximately 354 million Brazilian reals, with a service period of four years. It is planned to be officially launched in the first half of 2027 and continue to operate until 2031. The service content covers professional diving operations and full chain technical support for remote-controlled underwater robots. It can dispatch up to four independent operation units simultaneously and respond to the underwater operation and maintenance needs of multiple oil and gas blocks near Brazil.
Previously, the two parties had signed a series of long-term contracts with a total amount of approximately 4.2 billion Brazilian reals from the end of 2025 to the beginning of 2026, covering the deployment and operation of multiple underwater engineering support vessels. The new orders complement the existing projects, further filling the service gap in segmented underwater operation scenarios. Oce â nica's service response speed will be significantly improved, and the waiting period for single block underwater inspection and maintenance can be shortened by nearly 30%.
The scale of orders in hand refreshes the local industry landscape
After the implementation of the new contract, Oce â nica's total on hand orders climbed to approximately 10.3 billion Brazilian reals, equivalent to 2.05 billion US dollars, firmly ranking in the top tier of Brazil's domestic marine engineering service industry. The company's sustainable growth strategy has been further implemented. With stable long-term order support, the enterprise can orderly promote the renewal and upgrading of its underwater operation fleet and gradually expand the scale of its local offshore technology team.

In recent years, Petrobras has continued to increase the proportion of local marine engineering service procurement, driving the overall upgrading of Brazil's marine engineering industry chain. More local equipment manufacturing and technical service links have been included in the oil and gas development supply chain. The deep collaboration between the two parties is also providing more solid local service support for the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas fields in Brazil's offshore areas, reducing the project's external dependence. The work vessel on the sea surface slowly departed from the port, and a new underwater service cycle is about to begin. This long-term order has also laid a solid order foundation for the subsequent growth of Brazil's local offshore industry.Editor/Cheng Liting
