The construction of the Anaklia deepwater port in the Black Sea is steadily advancing, and Georgia plans to build a railway connection line. Prime Minister Kobahidze announced that the bidding will start at the end of October to fill the gaps in port collection and distribution.

Project Overview
This railway connection has a total length of about 18 kilometers and a total investment of 200 million US dollars, with funding provided by the World Bank. The project includes the construction of a new rail station and supporting facilities, connecting Anaklia Port to Georgia's existing railway network, and simultaneously promoting the construction of external road supporting facilities for the port. Anaklia Port is a key logistics hub in the region, with a dredging target depth of 17.5 meters and the construction of a 1376 meter breakwater. The onshore construction has already begun.
Regional Value
After the completion of the project, it can significantly enhance the port's freight distribution capacity, match the continuously growing freight demand in the middle corridor, strengthen Georgia's strategic position in Black Sea trade and cross regional logistics, and open up a new channel for Eurasian cargo transportation.Editor/Min Jing
