On October 20, 2026, a meeting on the future of energy in Tajikistan officially began in the conference room of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources. Faced with the seasonal power imbalance caused by the high proportion of domestic hydropower, Tajikistan hopes to use advanced external technology to fill the energy gap. A delegation from China Electric Equipment Group visited and conducted practical exchanges on renewable energy development, power equipment application, and digital upgrading of the power grid, opening up a new communication window for China Tajikistan green energy cooperation.

Exploring the path of co construction of wind and solar power stations

During the talks, both sides exchanged key opinions on cooperation in the construction of solar and wind power plants, while exploring the practical possibility of introducing Tajikistan's energy facilities into China Electric Equipment Group's power equipment. Renewable energy accounts for a relatively small proportion in Tajikistan's electricity structure but is in a sustained growth stage. Wind and solar resources are seen as a key lever to break the seasonal supply-demand imbalance of hydropower and achieve diversified energy supply. Both sides agree to rely on modern technology to transform energy infrastructure, improve facility operation efficiency, and consolidate the foundation of domestic power supply guarantee.

Coordinate the upgrade requirements of power equipment

China Electric Equipment Group is deeply involved in the fields of transmission and distribution equipment, substation automation, and digital grid solutions. The relevant technologies can adapt to the renovation of Tajikistan's old infrastructure and help absorb volatile renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. In some remote areas of Tajikistan, the power grid foundation is weak and the stability of power supply is insufficient. Many existing power facilities have aging problems, and there is a real market demand for reliable complete sets of power equipment in the local market. This meeting also provides a communication channel for the subsequent landing of Chinese power equipment in the Tajikistan market, promoting high-quality power technology services for local livelihoods and industrial development.

Promote the new layout of digitalization in the power grid

The digitization of the energy sector was included as an independent topic in this meeting, and both sides discussed the relevant technical solutions of China Electric Equipment Group to optimize the operation, management, and control level of Tajikistan's power grid. Improving the efficiency of power grid management and enhancing power supply reliability are the priority directions for Tajikistan's energy development, especially for remote areas with weak power grid foundations. Digital transformation can effectively narrow the power supply gap. Keywords: China Tajikistan energy cooperation, wind and solar power stations, digitalization of power grid

This exchange is in line with the cooperation direction of China and Tajikistan in jointly building the the Belt and Road, laying a foundation for the two countries to explore more potential cooperation opportunities in the field of green power and digital grid.Editor/Huang jiali
