On October 21, 2026, Lanzhou Customs held a press conference to announce that in the first three quarters, Kazakhstan became Gansu's largest trading partner, with imports and exports to Kazakhstan reaching 12.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%.

In recent years, Gansu has had frequent economic and trade exchanges with multiple Central Asian countries. Gansu imports copper concentrate and flaxseed from Central Asia; Asbestos and small buses produced in Gansu are sold to the Central Asian market, and the "sweet taste" characteristic agricultural products continue to be popular. Dozens of agricultural food products such as fresh apples, potatoes, tomatoes, kiwis, and citrus are directly supplied to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries through train services.Editor/Cheng Liting
