On the afternoon of October 28, 2026, the first cross Baltic China Europe freight train in Henan province departed from the Zhengzhou International Land Port East Operation Area, sounding its horn and adding a new rail sea intermodal route to the Central Plains Europe logistics channel matrix.
The new railway sea intermodal route has officially landed
On the same day, Henan International Logistics Hub Construction and Operation Co., Ltd. and Asia Europe Interconnection Holdings (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement to jointly release a new train channel product from Zhengzhou Manzhouli St. Petersburg Rotterdam Duisburg. The train departs through Manzhouli Port, completes the wide gauge section of the transfer in Baikal, Russia, and goes directly to St. Petersburg Port in Russia. It is then transferred by sea through Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and finally arrives in Duisburg, Germany.

This route increases the combination space between railway and sea transportation, allowing operating companies to flexibly organize transportation based on destination delivery needs and channel conditions. After the opening of the line, it will form a four-dimensional complementary pattern with the long-distance sea transportation through the middle corridor of the Caspian Sea, effectively reducing the dependence on a single main channel and shifting Zhengzhou's logistics system from single line dependence to multi line complementarity with Europe.
The elastic supply line of the Asia Europe supply chain is formed
This route is a highly resilient supply line for the Asia Europe supply chain, and the new model of rail sea intermodal transportation has released the hub potential of Saint Petersburg Port's railway port and sea freight exchange, promoting the transformation of Zhengzhou International Land Port from traditional transportation to a comprehensive service provider of land sea intermodal transportation. At present, Zhengzhou International Land Port has built a three-dimensional logistics system covering 31 overseas direct stations and 10 entry and exit ports, with business radiating to more than 140 cities in 40 countries in Europe and Asia. The cumulative operation of China Europe freight trains has exceeded 20000. Keywords: Cross border trains, China Europe trains

In 2025, Zhengzhou China Europe Railway Express will operate 3417 trains, ranking among the top in the country for two consecutive years. Since 2026, new routes and models will continue to be implemented, and the northward, southward, and westward channels will be expanded synchronously. The opening of the Trans Baltic Railway allows inland hubs to be more deeply integrated into the global shipping network, and the land and sea Silk Roads have achieved a new intersection in the hinterland of the Central Plains.Editor/Cheng Liting
