On November 2, 2026, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Central Committee, met with Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, in Beijing.

Wang Yi stated that the current conflict in the Middle East is prolonged and spreading, and dialogue and negotiation are the solution. All parties should approach each other with a responsible attitude towards the people and history, and focus on political solutions with a rational and pragmatic spirit, rather than engaging in another war. China is willing to uphold the series of initiatives and proposals put forward by the President on easing the situation in the Middle East, and work with all parties to continue making efforts to restore regional peace.

Wang Yi stated that despite the turbulence and changes in the international situation, China Iran relations have always maintained stable development, which is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and the desire of countries in the global South to unite and cooperate. China supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty and security, and is willing to work with Iran to promote the continued development of China Iran relations.

Bagheri introduced Iran's views and propositions on the regional situation, stating that Iran will firmly uphold its own security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, resist power and threats, and is willing to engage in negotiations with all parties, actively committed to achieving regional peace and stability. Iran appreciates the initiative put forward by the President and China's consistent position in upholding multilateralism, and looks forward to China playing a more important role in promoting international and regional peace. Iran is willing to promote the steady development of Iran China relations and strengthen cooperation with China in international and multilateral frameworks.Editor/Min Jing
