On July 21, 2020, the east extension of Shenzhen Metro Line 3 was approved by the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission. It is reported that the line is about to start construction.

Basic situation of the east extension of Line 3

This is the first line approved by the "Feasibility Study" in Shenzhen in 2020. The east extension of Metro Line 3 (Phase 4) starts from the existing Line 3 Shuanglong Station and is laid along Longgang Avenue and Pingxi Road. Finally, Pingdi Liulian Station, with a total length of about 9.28 kilometers, consists of 7 Liyuan, Xinsheng, Pingxi, Low Carbon City, Baishitang, Fuping, Pingdi Liulian stations (1 elevated station, underground station). 6), including 1 transfer station, with a construction period of 5 years.

The initial, short-term and long-term line design adopts large and small crossing operation

This engineering vehicle adopts a B-type car, a DC1500W third rail power supply method, and the maximum operating speed is 100 km/h. Six vehicles are used in the initial, short-term, and long-term formations, and 18 vehicles/vehicles are allocated in the initial period.

After completion, it will be connected to the existing Line 3 for operation. The system design capacity is designed according to 30 pairs per hour, and it meets the conditions of 33 pairs of trains running in one direction during peak hours.

The first, near and long-term roads of the whole line are operated by large and small roads. The big road is Fubao Station-Pingdi Liulian Station, and the small road is Fubao Station-Liyuan Station. There are 30 pairs of trains in the early, near, and long-term peak hours, and the short-term and long-term morning and evening peak hours will be added one-way in the upward and downward directions respectively.

After the completion of the project, it will not only strengthen the communication between the peripheral areas and the central city of Longgang, but also strongly support the development of Shenzhen International Low Carbon City. At the same time, it will further improve the functions of the existing Line 3 and improve the travel conditions of the residents in the Longgang area of Shenzhen. Editor/He Yuting
