Recently, the feasibility study report of the Gujun Reservoir Project in Dazhou City was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, which marked the official establishment of the construction project and created conditions for the start of construction before the end of 2020.

The project is located in Gujun Township, Wanyuan City, a tributary of the Zhouhe River. The main task of the project is flood prevention and power generation. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 131 million cubic meters, the flood control storage capacity is 89 million cubic meters, and the installed capacity of the power station is 11,600 kilowatts. The project is mainly composed of roller compacted concrete gravity dam, flood discharge facilities, power generation and water diversion facilities, power plants, fish passing facilities, etc. The maximum dam height 77.2 meters. The total construction period of the project is 44 months, and the total project investment is 2.708 billion yuan.

It is reported that Gujun Reservoir is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects identified by the State Council. It is a flood control control project in the Qujiang River Basin and the second large-scale reservoir project in Dazhou City after the Tuxikou Reservoir Project. After the project is completed, it will be operated in conjunction with the already built Jiangkou Power Station and the Tuxikou Reservoir under construction. Combining dike construction, river improvement and barrier removal, it will achieve the once-in-50-year flood control standard in Dazhou City and 20 years in Xuanhan County. One flood control standard. At the same time, it can greatly improve the flood control capacity of the Qujiang River Basin, promote the sustainable economic and social development of the region and the revitalization and development of the old revolutionary area.
