On December 3, 2020, the construction of the Leye-Wangmo (Leye Section) Expressway invested and constructed by Guangxi Transportation Investment Group officially started, with a design speed of 100 km/h and a planned construction period of 4 years.

According to reports, the Leye-Wangmo (Leye Section) expressway project starts at Leye County, Baise City, and ends at Sanzhai Village, Yachang Township, Leye County (the junction of Guizhou and Guizhou), connecting Leye to Baise Expressway. Pass by the world-class brand tourism resources such as the Leye Tiankeng Group. The approved route for the project is 59.4 kilometers in length, adopts two-way four-lane expressway construction standards, and the roadbed is 26 meters wide.

There are 19 tunnels and 42 bridges on the main line, with a bridge-to-tunnel ratio of 79.1%, making it the highway with the highest bridge-to-tunnel ratio in Guangxi. The bridge construction of the project is characterized by high height. Among them, the tallest pier of the Yachang (Bajiao) Bridge is 152 meters, which is currently the highest in Guangxi; the Yazhe Hongshui River Bridge is a half-through steel tube arch bridge with a main span of 495 meters, which is a domestic same Type third bridge.

In addition, the project passes through the original landform with an altitude change of more than 1,000 meters. The designed longitudinal slope of the route is large and the overall slope is herringbone. The average longitudinal slope is 2.5%, from the highest point of 1089 meters (design elevation) to the lowest point of 452 meters (design elevation). , 637 meters down the 30-kilometer route. The construction of tunnels across the line is difficult and technically demanding.

The Leye-Wangmo (Leye Section) Expressway is an important part of the Wuzhou-Leye Highway in the planning layout of the "Guangxi Expressway Network Plan (2018-2030)". In the future, after the completion of the project, the time from Leye County to the provincial boundary will be shortened from the original 2 hours to half an hour.
