On the Gannan Plateau in spring, the construction site of the S60 Zhuohe Expressway Phase II project is bustling and busy. The project is undertaken by Gansu Provincial Highway and Transportation Construction Group and will start construction at the end of 2024. It is planned to be opened to traffic in October 2028. The Xincheng Tunnel in Lintan County is one of the most difficult sections to construct along the entire line, with a total length of 3450 meters for the left line and 3460 meters for the right line. It is located in the Gannan Plateau and requires crossing V-grade weak surrounding rock geology. The construction team has risen to the challenge and solved multiple construction problems. Currently, the left line has been excavated 1476 meters and the right line has been excavated 1257 meters, with the goal of achieving tunnel completion by May 2027. As a key project, the Liushun River Bridge has a total length of 864 meters, 31 spans, and a highest pier height of 36 meters. The lower structure of the current bridge has been completed by 93%, and the right beam and slab have been erected for 26 spans. It is expected that all the right beam and slab will be erected in mid April. The construction of the right and left bridge deck systems will be completed by the end of July and September respectively.
