On December 18, 2020, China State Construction and Malawi North Water Affairs Bureau successfully signed a general contract for the upgrade and reconstruction of the Kalunga water supply pipeline. This project is the second contract signed by China State Construction in Malawi and the first infrastructure project signed in Malawi.

The content of the project includes: upgrading, transforming, and expanding the water supply pipeline network of Kalunga Town, Malawi, designing and constructing water supply pipelines, water treatment plants, water storage tanks, pumping stations, water distribution pipelines, auxiliary offices and roads and other facilities.

In the context of the spread of the global epidemic and the increasing difficulty in overseas market expansion, this signing will further enhance China Construction's market competitiveness in the field of Malawi water supply pipeline engineering, and consolidate China Construction's brand reputation and influence in Malawi force.
