Huadian Jinshang Suwalong Hydropower Station

Located on the main stream of Jinsha River at the junction of Sichuan Province and Tibet Autonomous Region, it is the 10th of the 13 cascade planning of the upper reaches of Jinsha River. The total installed capacity of the power station is 1.2 million kilowatts, and the annual power generation of cascade operation is about 5.5 billion kilowatt hours.

The dam lean management system is introduced in the construction process of the power station, which can control the positioning error of rolling vehicles to centimeter level, and realize the real-time monitoring and analysis of the transportation and use of rockfill materials and the quality of dam filling and rolling. Through the standardized management of safe and civilized production and quality technology, the quality of diversion tunnel lining, stilling basin concrete pouring and powerhouse slab beam column concrete of Suwalong hydropower station has reached the first-class level in China.

It is reported that Suwalong hydropower station is an important part of the national large-scale wind and water storage demonstration base in the upper reaches of Jinsha River. At present, in addition to Suwalong hydropower station which will be put into operation soon, yebatan hydropower station and Batang hydropower station have closed the river in 2019 and 2020 respectively, and Lawa hydropower station plans to close the river in 2021.
