On March 10, 2021, China Water Resources and Hydropower Fourth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. won the bid for the civil construction and installation of the Xianyang Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project dam. The project is located in Liquan County, Xianyang City, with a total investment of 1.76 billion yuan.

The Dongzhuang Water Control Project in Shaanxi Province is located at the end of the gorge at the lower reaches of the Jinghe River, a secondary tributary of the Yellow River, at the junction of Chigan Town, Liquan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, and Chewu Town, Chunhua County, about 90 kilometers away from Xi'an City and Gukoujing on the lower reaches of Jinghe River Huiqu canal head is about 29 kilometers away. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is about 3.276 billion cubic meters, the installed capacity of the hydropower station is 110 MW, and the maximum dam height is 230 meters.

The development task of the project is mainly to prevent floods and reduce silt, and take into account the comprehensive utilization of water supply, power generation and ecological improvement. The main works of the Dongzhuang Water Control Project mainly include: the concrete double-curved arch dam of the Dongzhuang Water Control Project, the energy dissipation and anti-scouring cushion pond and the second dam under the dam, the water diversion and power generation system, the water supply tunnel, the sand drainage tunnel, and the anti-seepage of the reservoir area. Engineering, wharf and connecting roads, external traffic reconstruction, permanent road reconstruction on site, engineering management facilities, automatic hydrological measurement and reporting system, sediment erosion monitoring system, spoil yard, sand and gravel processing system, concrete mixing system, construction camp, water distribution Civil engineering such as branch line, construction branch tunnel, cofferdam project, diversion tunnel plugging, explosive depot, oil depot, road operation and maintenance during construction period, aircraft operation and maintenance, other temporary projects and factory facilities.

The project can reduce the siltation of the lower reaches of the Weihe River by 659 million tons, and the regulation of the reservoir can ensure the discharge of the ecological flow of the lower reaches of the Jinghe River and improve the water ecological environment of the lower reaches. Increase the irrigation guarantee rate of 1.45 million mu of farmland in the irrigation area from 30% to 50%; the installed capacity of hydropower stations is 110 megawatts, and the average annual power generation is 285 million kilowatt-hours.
