October 28 Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency said on Monday that it has signed a 298 million levs ($169.1 million/152.4 million euro) contract with a tie-up of local companies for the modernisation of a 30-kilometre section of the Vidin-Botevgrad road.

The section connecting Vidin to Makresh road junction will be upgraded by a tie-up of PST Group, PST Sofia, PST Vidin, Nivel Stroy and Patengineering-M, the government agency said in a notice.

According to registry agency data, Nivel Stroy holds a 50% stake in the tie-up, while Patengineering-M owns 5%. PST Group and its two wholly-owned units control the remaining 45%.

The contract was inked on October 21, according to the notice.

Thirteen candidates submitted offers in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.

Several sections of the 167-km long Vidin-Botevgrad road, which sees intensive traffic from the bridge over the Danube connecting Bulgaria's Vidin to Romania's Calafat, are already under construction or reconstruction.Editor/Huang Lijun
