On July 1, 2021, Henan High Speed Railway Co., Ltd. issued the "Announcement of the First Information on the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Newly-built Pingdingshan-Luohe-Zhoukou High-speed Railway", which marked a significant progress in the preliminary work of the Pingluozhou High-speed Railway. It is reported that the project has completed the pre-feasibility study review in early June and has entered the feasibility study stage. Construction is planned to start in March 2022.

Pingluozhou High Speed Rail

The newly-built Pingdingshan-Luohe-Zhoukou high-speed railway is located in Pingdingshan, Luohe and Zhoukou, Henan Province. It is an important branch of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network continental bridge corridor, a regional high-speed rail in southern Henan Province, and the backbone of the intercity rail network of the Central Plains urban agglomeration line. The line starts from Pingdingshan West Station of Zheng-Wan High-speed Railway in the west, passes through Pingdingshan South and Luohe, and ends at Zhoukou East Station of Zheng-Fu High-speed Railway, connecting Zheng-Wan, Beijing-Guangzhou and Zheng-Fu High-speed Railways. The length of the main line is about 195.5km. , Wuyang North, Luohe West, Zhoukou West, Zhoukou East 6 stations, of which 3 existing stations (Pingdingshan West, Luohe West, Zhoukou East) are used.

Pingluozhou high-speed railway is a branch of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network continental bridge corridor, a national medium- and long-term railway network planning project, and a convenient connection line between the Hunan High-speed Railway West Henan Corridor, Zhengwan, Jingguang, Zhenghe and other vertical high-speed railway corridors It is one of the major projects of the modern comprehensive transportation system in Henan Province during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. It is a regional high-speed rail with both road network and inter-city functions and a prominent road network function.

The Pingluozhou high-speed rail is an important part of the planning of the Shanghai-Yin (Ningluo) high-speed rail channel. The project connects the Hunan High-speed Railway West Henan Passage from Jiaozuo to Luoyang to Pingdingshan in the west, connecting Luoyang, Pingdingshan, Luohe and Zhoukou 4 cities, and almost across the central part of Henan. Its construction will become the most convenient and fast passage connecting the 4 cities, which can accelerate the 4 cities.
