Recently, the second phase of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15 has been approved by the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission. The general contract for the construction of its two projects YK35+575～YK53+573 and YK20+351～YK35+575 is now open for bidding. Both projects are scheduled to start in September 2021.

According to the tender notice, the second phase of the line 15 project starts at Zengjia Station, via Daxuecheng Middle Road Station, Daxuecheng South Station, Chenjiaqiao Station, Daxuecheng North 1st Road Station, Science City Station, Logistics Park North Station, Jingkou Station, Lixue Road Station, Jinshan Temple Station, Happy Valley Station, and the terminal is the Jiuquhe East Station of the first phase of Line 15.

The total length of the line is about 32.8 kilometers, of which the underground line (including the cut-and-cut section) is 30.5 kilometers and the elevated line is 2.3 kilometers. There are 11 stations on the whole line, including 1 elevated station and the rest are underground stations. The line is a two-lane, using the right-hand driving system, and adopts urban rail express vehicles with a maximum operating speed of 140 km/h and 25kv AC. It uses 6 formations, and the initial allocation is 17 trains/102 vehicles.

It is understood that the owners of the two projects are Chongqing Railway (Group) Co., Ltd., the construction funds come from state-owned funds, the project investment ratio is 100%, and the estimated contract amounts are 5.79 billion yuan and 5.09 billion yuan respectively. The planned construction period of the second phase of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15 is 63 months.
