On August 31, 2021, the rapid transformation project of Susong Road (South Second Ring-Shenzhen Road) in Hefei Economic Development Zone is in the process of bidding for the general contractor. The project will implement the second and third tender sections in advance, with a total project budget of 2.45 billion yuan and a planned construction period of 720 calendar days. It is expected to start within the year.

According to the person in charge of the Urban Management Bureau of Hefei Economic Development Zone, Susong Road (South Second Ring-Shenzhen Road) is the main road from north to south in Hefei City, connecting the old city, high-speed rail south station, economic development zone, Binhu New District and Feixi County. With the rapid social and economic development of Hefei City, the traffic function of Susong Road has become more and more important. According to the large-scale construction plan, Hefei City decided to implement rapid transformation of Susong Road. The total length of the reconstructed road is about 16.7 kilometers, and the red line is 60 meters wide. However, the bustling avenue node project and the Jinxiu Avenue node project will be implemented first, and the length of Susong Road is about 5.21 kilometers.
