On April 24, 2026, the bidding candidates for the construction of the TJ07, TJ08, and TJ09 sections of the Jinhua Wucheng Zhejiang Jiangxi border project on the Yongjin Quzhou Expressway were officially announced. Zhejiang Jiaotong Group Co., Ltd., China Communications Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Jiaotong International Engineering Co., Ltd. have each won three bid sections, marking that this highway with a total investment of over 29.3 billion yuan is about to enter the comprehensive construction stage.

A 122 kilometer corridor connects Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces

The project starts from the northeast side of Shangjing Village, Tangxi Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua City, and connects to the designed endpoint of the Jinhua urban section of the Yongjin Quzhou Expressway. It passes through Wucheng District, Quzhou Longyou County, Qujiang District, Kecheng District, and Jiangshan City, and ends at Heqing Village, Fenglin Town, Jiangshan City, at the Zhejiang Jiangxi provincial border. The total length of the main line is 122.318 kilometers, with an estimated total investment of 29344.31 million yuan and a construction and installation cost of 1762302 million yuan.

The main line of the entire line is equipped with 99 bridges of 25476.59 meters (including 2 super large bridges of 2750.22 meters), 12 tunnels of 9536.5 meters, 12 interchanges, 10 ramp toll stations, 3 service areas, and 5 interconnected connecting lines of approximately 9.912 kilometers.

The project adopts the standard of a two-way six lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour (roadbed width of 34.5 meters) from the starting point to the Sidu hub, and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour (roadbed width of 33.5 meters) from the Sidu hub to the endpoint.

The total length of the three bidding sections in this tender is 44 kilometers

The project adopts a segmented implementation strategy. The first project to be implemented is from K143+622 to K221+900 at the Sidu Hub of Huangqunan Expressway, with a total length of 78.264 kilometers (the bidding and construction of the TJ01 to TJ06 sections have been completed and started). The scope of this implementation project is from the Four Capital Hub K221+900 to the project endpoint K267+149.162, with a total length of 44.054 kilometers and three sections from TJ07 to TJ09.

The main line of this project is set with 34 bridges 7371.29m long, 5 tunnels 3297m long, 1 hub interchange (Sidu hub), 3 general interchanges, and 1 service area (Jiangshan west service area). The connection line of Jiangshan west interchange is 2.102km long (two-way four lane first-class highway standard, design speed 80km/h, subgrade width 24.5m).

Construction period of 30 to 36 months

The TJ07 section: The main line starts and ends at station numbers K221+900 to K236+980 (including a short chain of 1194.86 meters), with a total length of approximately 13.88 kilometers, and the construction of the Jiangshan West Interchange connecting line of 2.102 kilometers. The engineering content includes roadbed, pavement, bridges and culverts, tunnels, three transformations, interchanges, four city hubs, greening, station and yard filling, embedded parts and pipeline embedment, etc. There are 4 tunnels within the section (the long tunnel Wugongshan Tunnel is 1034 meters long, the short tunnel Yaotangwei Tunnel is 314 meters long, the Jiangjia Tunnel is 448 meters long, and the Jiangwuling Tunnel is 170 meters long), 13 bridges with a length of 2419.98 meters, 1 hub (crossing the Huangqu South Expressway on the Sidu Hub), and 1 interchange (Twin Towers Interchange). The estimated construction and installation cost is about 2.494 billion yuan. The winning bidder is Zhejiang Jiaotong Group Co., Ltd., with an evaluation price of 2112.16666 million yuan (approximately 2.112 billion yuan) and a planned construction period of 36 months.

The TJ08 section: The main line starts and ends at station numbers K236+980 to K253+600, with a length of approximately 16.62 kilometers. The engineering content includes roadbed, bridges and culverts (excluding prefabrication and transportation of upper components such as beams and slabs), tunnels, three transformations, interchanges, greening, service area and station filling, etc. There is one tunnel within the section (Grasshopper Mountain Tunnel with a total length of 1331 meters and three lanes per tunnel), nine bridges with a length of 2559.98 meters (including the main span of 70 meters+120 meters+70 meters of Chaziwu Bridge, which uses variable cross-section continuous box girders and steel-concrete composite beams for the upper structure), two interchanges (Jiangshan West Interchange and Hecun Interchange), and one service area (Jiangshan West Service Area). The estimated construction and installation cost is about 1.508 billion yuan. The winning bidder is China Communications Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., with an evaluation price of 1230.622026 million yuan (approximately 1.231 billion yuan) and a planned construction period of 30 months.

The TJ09 section: The main line starts and ends at station numbers K253+600 to K267+149.162, with a total length of approximately 13.55 kilometers. The engineering content includes roadbed, bridges and culverts (excluding prefabrication and transportation of upper components such as beams and slabs), three transformations, greening, station filling, etc. There are 12 bridges within the section with a length of 2391.33 meters (9 large bridges with a length of 2156.55 meters and 3 small and medium-sized bridges with a length of 234.78 meters). The estimated construction and installation cost is about 722 million yuan. The winning bidder is Zhejiang Jiaogong International Engineering Co., Ltd., with an evaluation price of 598.915169 million yuan (approximately 599 million yuan) and a planned construction period of 30 months.

After completion, the project will effectively connect Jinhua, Quzhou, and Zhejiang Jiangxi provinces, improve the regional highway network, enhance the inter provincial passage capacity, and provide strong support for the development of industries and towns along the route. Editor/Yang Beihua
