At 11 o'clock on August 29, 2021, at the construction site of the Anjiu High-speed Railway Bream Island Yangtze River Bridge at the junction of Huangmei County, Hubei Province and Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, along with the construction personnel of China Railway 11th Bureau laying a pair of long rails at the head of Jiujiang Bridge On the ballastless bed, the laying of the tracks for the Hubei section of the Anjiu high-speed railway has been completed.

According to reports, after the provincial boundary has been paved, the track laying unit will continue to lay a 500-meter long track to the main line of Lushan Station. It is expected to complete the task of laying the main line of the Anjiu high-speed rail line in mid-September.

Anjiu High Speed Rail

The Anjiu high-speed railway starts in Anqing City in southwest Anhui, passes through Huangmei County in southeastern Hubei, and ends in Jiujiang City in northern Jiangxi. An important part of the Hong Kong high-speed rail, connecting An, Hebang, Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail to the north, and connecting Wujiu, Changjiu, Changgan, Ganshen and other high-speed rails to the south, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a main line length of about 170.9 kilometers. Among them, the Anhui section will be completed on February 21, 2021.

Among them, the Hubei section is located in Huangmei County, with a length of 51.1 kilometers (including the Bream Island Yangtze River Bridge), and two stations, Huangmei East Station and Konglong North Station. The newly-built Anjiu high-speed railway is connected to the existing Beijing-Kowloon Railway at Konglong North Station through the Konglong Up-and-Down Link, and at Huangmei East Station to the Huanghuang Railway under construction.

It is understood that the construction party, China Railway 11th Bureau, has established the central dispatching room of the Huangmei Construction Headquarters of the Hubei section of the Anjiu Railway, and realized on-site video through two information systems, namely, the project line traffic dispatch command management system and the joint dispatch safety production management cloud system. Functions such as monitoring, wireless dispatching command reception, and online intelligent approval of construction plans ensure the safety of engineering lines and construction.

In the future, the completion of the Anjiu high-speed railway will strengthen the status of Wuhan as a railway hub. By then, the journey from Wuhan to Shanghai will be shortened from the current five hours to three hours. This will help strengthen the central cities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt such as Wuhan, Hefei, and Nanjing. The communication and the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt are of great significance. Huangmei County also took the high-speed rail express train, and thus entered the one-hour economic circle of Wuhan, Hefei, and Nanchang, and the five-hour economic circle of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
