Project Overview

The construction site is Shantou City. The railway from Shantou Station of Guangmeishan Railway to Guangao Port Area of Shantou is a key project in Guangdong Province. The construction of this project can meet the demand of port collection and distribution, improve port service quality and promote the rapid development of the port. At the same time, it can open the Guangmeishan Railway to the east of Guangdong. The channel extends the service scope of Guangmeishan Railway.

In the initial stage, this project only undertakes the freight transport function. In the near future, the Shantou Station to Haojiang section will become part of the Shantou-Puning intercity railway, and will also take on the passenger transport function. Guangmeishan Railway Shantou Station to Shantou Guangao Port Area Railway is connected at the Shantou end of Guangmeishan Railway Shantou Station, going southwest through Longhu District and Haojiang District of Shantou City, and entering Guangao Port Area with Guangao Station.

The total length of the project line is about 16.4km. Shantou (excluding) and Guangao stations are set up on the whole line, and Haojiang Intercity Station is reserved. One tunnel is about 9.97km long and two bridges are about 3.7km long.

Main technical standards

Railway grade: Shantou to Haojiang section is a Class I railway, and Haojiang to Guangao section is a dedicated line.

Number of main lines: single line; double lines are reserved for the section from Shantou to Haojiang, with a line spacing of 4.2 meters. Limit slope: 16.5‰. Passenger train design speed: 160 km/h from Shantou to Haojiang.

Minimum curve radius: Shantou to Haojiang section is generally 2500 meters, difficult to 1,600 meters; Haojiang to Guangao section is generally 600 meters, difficult to 400 meters.

Traction type: Electricity. Towing mass: 2400 tons. Locomotive type: HXD1C. Effective length of arrival and departure line: 850 meters. Types of blockages: automatic inter-station blockage is adopted in the initial stage, automatic inter-station blockage is adopted for the Shantou-Haojiang section in the near and long term, and automatic inter-station blockage for the Haojiang-Guangao section.
