Recently, the first pile of Wulipun Station on the S1 line of Hefei Xinqiao Airport was successfully drilled, which means that the construction of the S1 line has officially started, and the citizens of Hefei are one step closer to the day when they can take the subway to the airport.

The S1 line of Hefei Xinqiao Airport is positioned as the urban (suburban) railway in the Hefei rail transit network. It adopts the urban B-type car with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It passes through Huainan City Shou County, Hefei Economic Development Zone, Changfeng County and Luyang District. , Shushan District. The line starts from Shushan Industrial Park Station in Shou County, and is mainly laid along Airport North Road, Xinqiao Avenue, Wangqiao Road, Hehuai Road, Silihe Road, Huanggui Road and Qingyang Road, and ends at Wulipun Station. About 47.5 kilometers, of which the underground section is 23 kilometers, and the elevated line and transition section are 24.5 kilometers.

The project consists of 14 stations, including 4 elevated stations and 10 underground stations. There are 8 island-style stations on the second underground floor, namely Terminal T1, Terminal T2, Airport Work Area, Aviation Industrial Park, International Town, Silihe Road, Guzhen Road, Shihe Road Station; there are 2 island-style stations with three underground floors or four underground floors, namely Hefei West Station and Wulidun Station; 3 elevated island-style stations on the ground, namely Shushan Industrial Park Station, Xinqiao Avenue Station, Science Center Station; 1 elevated side station on the ground, Gangji Station. Among them, Wulitun Station is located on the north side of the intersection of Changjiang West Road and Qingyang Road. It is laid along the north-south direction of Qingyang Road. The total length of the station is about 320 meters, and the width of the standard section is about 22 meters.

According to the relevant person in charge of Hefei Railway Group, the construction of the line faces many difficulties, such as the relocation of pipe and pole lines, land acquisition and demolition, outbound transportation of muck, and narrow construction work area.
