On March 29, 2022, State Grid Xinyuan Shandong Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station organized the second meeting of Unit 4 Unit Startup Acceptance Committee, officially confirming that the last unit of the power station will be officially put into operation on March 23, 2022. This marks that Shandong Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station has been fully put into commercial operation one year ahead of the nationally approved construction period.

Shandong Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Fei County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. The total investment of the project is 7.37 billion yuan, the total installed capacity is 1.2 million kilowatts, and 4 single-stage mixed-flow reversible pump-hydrogenerator units with a single unit capacity of 300,000 kilowatts are installed. The designed annual power generation is 2.008 billion kWh, and the annual pumped power is 2.677 billion kWh, which is connected to the Shandong power grid with a 500 kV outlet.

After the completion of the power station, 160 million yuan of profits and taxes will be paid each year, which can greatly improve the new energy consumption capacity of Shandong Power Grid, further enrich the tourism resources of old revolutionary base areas, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, help rural revitalization, and help achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.Editor/Ma Xue
