Construction of the 40,000-seat Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar will be one of the venues for the 2022 World Cup and a symbol of Qatar and Arab culture. It will be located in southern Doha. The design of the structure has now been completed.
Al Thumama's designs are designed to reflect the style of "gahfiya", a traditional headdress worn by men in Arab countries, especially the Gulf region. Gahfiya is an important part of every little boy's adulthood. The arena is a symbol of Qatar's youth and a symbol of the Arab tradition that inspired it.
Built for the World Cup
The stadium is expected to attract 40,000 fans and host a series of games before the quarterfinals. It will host the World Cup before the quarter-finals and is one of the stadiums built specifically for the game. When the game ends, the stadium's capacity will be halved. The seats will be demolished later and will be donated to countries where they are most needed.
The Secretary-General of the Hassan Al Thawady Legacy Review Board recently announced that Education City and Al Beit Stadium will open in 2020. (Please refer to www.seetao.com for reprinting.) See editor of section engineering / Huang Lijun
