Recently, the Fujian Taiwan Economic and Trade Sustainable Development Industrial Park and Supporting Infrastructure Project (Phase I) officially released a public bidding announcement for the construction and operation integration. The project is owned by Fuzhou Urban and Rural Construction Group Co., Ltd. and entrusted to China Investment Consulting Co., Ltd. for the bidding work. The total investment is 14.791 billion yuan, and it is promoted through an integrated model of design, procurement, construction, and operation, marking the substantive stage of Fuzhou's key project to promote the deep integration of Fujian Taiwan economy and trade.

The project content of this bidding is rich and takes into account both industrial development and supporting livelihood, covering two core areas. On the one hand, it involves the construction of municipal and park supporting facilities in multiple key areas such as Jinshan Industrial Park, Fuxing Economic Development Zone, Fuzhou Software Park, etc. It also involves the construction of municipal roads and fast connecting channels. At the same time, it plans to build parking lots with charging piles, large advertising light boxes, smart light poles and other facilities. It will also create park activity venues and ecological rest and operation supporting facilities to promote the development of the night economy. On the other hand, there is the Nanhu Campus project of Gezhi Middle School, with a land area of over 91300 square meters and a total construction area of nearly 148500 square meters. It will build a new group of buildings such as teaching buildings, experimental buildings, and sports halls, supporting outdoor sports venues. At the same time, historical buildings will be reinforced and repaired, and ancient trees will be transplanted and protected. After completion, the regional educational resource layout will be optimized.

The project sets clear thresholds for bidders' qualifications, requiring not only comprehensive engineering design qualifications such as Class A, but also first level or above qualifications for general contracting of construction projects and municipal public works, as well as safety production licenses. The project leader also needs to have corresponding professional qualifications such as first level registered constructor. The maximum bidding price for this tender is 8.701 billion yuan, with a total construction period of 1460 days. The winning bidder is required to undertake the tasks of project construction drawing design, material procurement, engineering construction, and operation of operational facilities such as parking lots and charging piles in the later stage.

It is worth noting that the project has previously advanced the bidding work for the improvement of drainage and flood prevention capabilities in the east area of the South Railway Station, forming a construction pattern of coordinated promotion among multiple sectors. According to the plan, the project is expected to determine the implementation entity by the end of 2025 and be fully operational by 2029. At that time, not only will it be possible to connect multiple industrial zones in Fuzhou through improved infrastructure, providing a collaborative development platform for Fujian and Taiwan enterprises, but it will also achieve integrated development of industry and city through improved education facilities and the implementation of smart city facilities, injecting sustained momentum into cross-strait economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges.Editor/Bian Wenjun
