A few days ago, Yecheng County in Kashgar, Xinjiang and Southwest Taxi Exploration and Development Company held a symposium on deepening oil-field cooperation and a signing ceremony for project investment. Qiao Xianghua, member of the Kashgar Prefectural Party Committee and Executive Deputy Commissioner of the Administrative Office, Liu Sihong, Deputy Director of the Kashgar CPPCC Working Committee and Secretary of the Yecheng County Party Committee, Liu Qiang, Deputy General Manager of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company, and Wang Hongfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Manager of Southwest Tarim Exploration and Development Company attended the signing ceremony.

During the cooperation period, Taxi Southwest Exploration and Development Company, relying on Yecheng County’s resource advantages and location advantages, completed 2 million kilowatts of solar photovoltaic power generation, Kekeya condensate gas field development, exploration evaluation in Fusha area, and exploration in Guman area within 3 years. It is a project construction task with a planned total investment of about 16 billion yuan. It is an investment agreement with the largest investment scale ever signed by Yecheng County and an investment of over 10 billion yuan for a single project.

The implementation of the agreement project will deeply tap the development potential of Yecheng's new energy and mineral resources industry, promote the high concentration of development factors such as industry, technology, talents, and capital, and effectively transform the advantages of light resources and oil and gas resources into economic development advantages. It is of great and far-reaching significance to deepen the integration of the local economy, build a community of interests in the oil and real estate industry, and promote the realization of high-quality development of the regional economy and society.

In fact, PetroChina has continued to develop new energy investment and construction fields such as photovoltaics in recent years. A few days ago, PetroChina completed the first water surface photovoltaic project - Daqing Oilfield Spark Water Surface Photovoltaic Demonstration Project. PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company, which signed the contract this time, has officially built 98 photovoltaic power stations in the Tarim Oilfield in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert.

In 2021, PetroChina will implement a number of new energy projects focusing on wind, light, heat, electricity and hydrogen, and 39 new energy projects have been completed and put into operation, adding 3.5 million tons of standard coal to the new energy development and utilization capacity. In the future, PetroChina will focus on building a new pattern of multi-energy complementation, placing new energy in a prominent position, actively deploying clean production and green and low-carbon business models, and contributing to the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

The proposal of the dual carbon goal is leading my country's new energy industry into a new period of development. The 14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy makes it clear that, as an important measure for carbon emission reduction, the development of renewable energy in my country during the 14th Five-Year Plan period will present new characteristics of large-scale, high-proportion, market-oriented, and high-quality development.  Editor/Zhao E
