On July 14, 2022, the feasibility study report of the 465MW/2600MWh salt cavern compressed air energy storage project in Huai'an, Jiangsu passed the expert review in Beijing, marking that the project has achieved important milestones and will enter the project implementation stage, further consolidating my country's role in this project. The international leading position in the field provides important support for my country to implement the dual-carbon strategy and build a new power system.
From Academician Wang Qiuliang, Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Zhou Xiaoxin, Chinese Academy of Electrical Engineering, Academician Yang Chunhe, Wuhan Institute of Geotechnical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and from China Energy Research Society, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, China University of Petroleum, Beijing Jingneng Technology Experts from Co., Ltd., Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute and other units attended the meeting. More than 40 people from Huai'an Municipal Government, Suyan Group, Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Reserve National Energy (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and various cooperative units attended the review meeting.

Site of Feasibility Study Report of 465MW/2600MWh Salt Cave Compressed Air Energy Storage Project in Huaian, Jiangsu
The 465MW/2600MWh salt cavern compressed air energy storage project in Huai'an, Jiangsu, will be implemented in two phases: the first phase is 115MW, and the second phase is 350MW. After the power station is completed, it will become the compressed air energy storage power station with the largest capacity in the world, with an annual power generation capacity of 850 million kWh. The project relies on the internationally leading advanced compressed air energy storage technology of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the leading underground salt cavern cavity construction technology of Suyan Group, and utilizes the development and system of a complete set of compressed air energy storage equipment of Zhongchu Guoneng (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. Integration capabilities, will build the world's largest compressed air energy storage system with the best performance, accelerate the development and industrialization of compressed air energy storage technology, explore new cooperation models for production, education and research, and innovate flexible and diverse business models. It has become a demonstration sample of my country's green, low-carbon and circular development, seized the new highland of the compressed air energy storage international strategy, and released strong social and industrial value.
Compressed air energy storage technology has the advantages of large scale, low cost, long life, clean and pollution-free, safe and reliable, and is considered to be one of the most promising long-term large-scale energy storage technologies. The 100-megawatt advanced compressed air energy storage system is basically equivalent to the pumped storage energy storage system in terms of function, cost, life and performance. , The realization of the dual carbon goal is of great significance.

The world's first 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage system expansion unit
The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and its industrialization company Zhongchu Guoneng Beijing Technology Co., Ltd. are currently the only units in my country that have achieved both 100-megawatt compressed air energy storage and salt cavern compressed air energy storage projects. On September 23, 2021, the country's first salt cavern compressed air energy storage power station - Shandong Feicheng 10MW salt cavern advanced compressed air energy storage national demonstration power station was built and officially connected to the grid and put into operation; on December 31, 2021, the global The first 100MW advanced compressed air energy storage power station - Zhangjiakou 100MW advanced compressed air energy storage national demonstration power station was successfully connected to the grid, and live commissioning work was carried out.
Before the review, Zhang Chaoyang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Suyan Group, Sui Jun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yang Chunhe, Academician of Wuhan Institute of Geomechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered speeches, fully expressing the construction of this major project. The understanding and expectation of the significance, the confidence and determination for the implementation of the follow-up project. Subsequently, Zhou Bing, chairman of Jiangsu Guoyuan Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the background of the project review.

During the review, the expert group listened to the feasibility study report of the project, the stability evaluation of the salt cavern and the report of the underground engineering. After careful questioning and discussion by experts, it was unanimously agreed to pass the feasibility study review.
In the next step, all parties involved in the project will join forces to steadily promote the construction of Huai'an 465MW/2600MWh salt cavern compressed air energy storage project, realize the project's completion and grid connection and commercial operation as soon as possible, and play a leading role in demonstration.
