On November 4, 2022, the construction of the south section of Shiwu Expressway, with a total investment of about 22 billion yuan, was started amid the roaring construction. Shiyan Wuxi Expressway, namely Shiyan Wuxi Expressway. This road is a part of the "Vertical Eight" line of the "Nine Vertical, Five Horizontal and Three Ring" expressway network planned by our province. It starts from Yunxi, Shiyan, passes through Zhushan and Zhuxi, and is near Maozimiao, Zhenping County, Shaanxi. It connects with Pingli Zhenping section of Anlai Expressway, and uses Ankang Laifeng Expressway to reach Wuxi, Chongqing.

The largest investment highway in Shiyan

The total length of the south section of Shiwu Expressway is 84.664km, including 78.38km in Hubei Province and 6.28km in Shaanxi Province. The total investment of the project is about 22 billion yuan, including 20.5 billion yuan in Hubei section and 1.5 billion yuan in Zhenping section of Shaanxi. The project starts from Yishui Town, Zhushan County, passes through Majiadu Town, Zhushan County, Xinzhou Town, Bingying Town, Tianbao Township and Fengxi Town, Zhuxi County, leaves Hubei near Xiaojieliang, Fengxi Town, Zhuxi County, and ends at Zhenping County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. The whole line adopts the standard construction of two-way four lane expressway with design speed of 80km/h and subgrade width of 255m. The total construction period is 48 months.

It is reported that this project is the expressway project with the largest construction investment scale and the highest bridge tunnel ratio in Shiyan history. The data shows that the ratio of bridges and tunnels of the project reaches 85%, including 44 main line bridges with a total length of 21321 meters, including 3 super major bridges with a length of 6070 meters and 40 major bridges with a length of 15251 meters; There are 29 tunnels with a total length of 50570m, including 5 extra long tunnels with a length of 18633m and 16 long tunnels with a length of 27263m.
