Recently, MCC International Hong Kong Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Taikoo International Group Co., Ltd. under Dianshi Capital Group successfully signed the EPC contract for the nickel cobalt hydroxide hydrometallurgy project located in Molowali County, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

This project mainly includes mineral processing project, smelting project, tailings pond project, sulfur based sulphuric acid production project, limestone project, water supply and drainage system, power supply and distribution system, general layout transportation, public and auxiliary systems, etc. It does not include coal-fired power plants, wharfs, living quarters, as well as external connections and transportation roads, power supply lines, water intake facilities, etc.

The project adopts the patented high pressure acid leaching hydroxide precipitation process of MCC to produce mixed nickel cobalt hydroxide products. The annual processing capacity of laterite nickel ore is about 5.8 million tons, and the mixed output of nickel cobalt hydroxide is 158000 tons, accounting for 62198 tons of nickel and 555 tons of cobalt by metal. The products are mainly used to prepare ternary material precursors for power lithium ion batteries.

The signing of the EPC contract of this project marks another milestone project won by MCC in Indonesia with its advanced technical advantages in the metallurgical field and strong construction capacity, which is conducive to further promoting the international application of the nickel cobalt hydrometallurgy technology of MCC.Editor/Xing Wentao
