Algeria is accelerating its efforts to seize the development opportunities in the African aerospace field. Recently, the country signed two memorandums of cooperation with Time Space Daoyu Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The signing ceremony was held at the Abdullatif Lahore International Conference Center in Algiers, and important officials from both countries attended and witnessed the signing. This cooperation is a key measure for Algeria to strengthen its domestic satellite and space technology capabilities, and also lays a solid foundation for expanding its space business on the African continent.

According to the cooperation content, the first memorandum of understanding was signed by Algerian Telecommunications Satellite Company and Time Space, focusing on two main directions: first, to build a satellite manufacturing factory in Algeria to consolidate the foundation of the local and regional aerospace industry; The second is to establish a satellite dedicated center to integrate applications, innovative achievements, and local resources, providing support for scientific research and technological development. Both parties have also clarified the principles and conditions of commercial cooperation for the satellite solution project, which will be promoted in stages and is expected to radiate to more regions in Africa in the future.

The second memorandum was signed by the Algerian Space Agency and the Space Agency to focus on the manufacturing of low orbit satellites. This move will help Algeria enhance its technological and scientific research capabilities, and promote its goal of becoming a leader in African aerospace. The Algerian Minister of Posts and Telecommunications stated that the two agreements will effectively enhance the country's space related capabilities, stimulate innovation vitality, and consolidate the country's position in the African space field.

As a leading domestic commercial aerospace enterprise, Time Space Aerospace focuses on the research and development of low orbit satellite constellations. It has launched multiple satellites and can provide high-precision positioning and satellite communication services, supporting diverse scenarios such as autonomous driving and drone logistics. After more than 30 years of development, its parent company Geely Holding has transformed from a single motorcycle manufacturer to a global technology group. Through the development path of "independent breakthroughs+global mergers and acquisitions+ecological synergy", it has built a full scenario technology ecosystem of "ground travel+air travel+space communication".

Nowadays, Geely Holding has formed a "1+N" ecosystem with automobiles as the core, aerospace as the increment, intelligent technology as the support, and finance and education as auxiliary. In the global layout, Geely acquires core technologies through mergers and acquisitions, relies on localized production to approach target markets, and builds a global R&D network to strengthen competitiveness. In the future, Geely will continue to strengthen its technological attributes, promote ecological openness and full chain sustainable development, and steadily move towards the goal of becoming a global leader in the technology driven travel ecosystem.Editor/Bian Wenjun
