On December 26, 2022, with the preferential loan provided by the Export-Import Bank of China, the opening ceremony of the Cambodian Highway No. 41 upgrading project undertaken by CRBC was held in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian, Cambodian Minister of State and Public Works and Transport Sun Zhantuo, and nearly 6,000 local people attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

In his speech, Hun Sen expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government and people for their massive assistance in developing transportation infrastructure in Cambodia. He said that Road 41 is an important economic artery connecting the coastal province of Kampot, and people will benefit a lot from it. So far, Chinese friends have helped Cambodia build 30 roads with a total length of more than 3,000 kilometers, which has brought a lot of hope to Cambodia.

In his speech, Wang Wentian said that the start of the No. 41 road upgrade project is another new achievement of China-Cambodia practical cooperation and will play an important role in promoting Cambodia's economic and social development. Since the beginning of this year, projects including the Jingang Expressway, the first expressway in Cambodia invested by Chinese companies, have been progressing smoothly. The construction of the China-Cambodia community of shared future has achieved great results, and practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries has continued to deepen.

Sun Chanto pointed out that Highway 41 is the main economic artery of Cambodia, connecting several important international ports, logistics centers under construction, tourist terminals, etc. in Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo and Kampot provinces. Coastal tourism, facilitating the transportation of goods and agricultural products.
Route 41 Upgrading and Reconstruction Project
The starting point of the No. 41 Highway Upgrading Project is located in Kampong Speu Province, intersecting with Cambodian Highway 4, and the end point of the project is located in Kampot Province, intersecting with No. 3 Highway. The total length of the route is 95.27 kilometers, and the construction period is 40 months.
Kim Kamchara, a food vendor along Highway 41 in Kampong Speu province, told reporters that the road is currently bumpy, slippery in the rainy season, and dusty in the dry season.
