As the time and space distance between Tangier and Marrakesh is about to be redefined by the steel dragon, Chinese engineering powerhouses have quietly gathered in the mountains and city edges of Morocco. This is not simply repairing bridges and laying tracks, but laying a "Chinese runway" connecting the economic arteries of North and South Africa for the 2030 World Cup.

Chinese enterprises take over the core civil engineering section

China Railway Fourth Bureau, China Railway 20th Bureau, Gezhouba and Shandong Expressway, among other Chinese contractors, have successfully won the construction tasks of over 10 billion dirhams for earthwork, subgrade and elevated bridge of the Ganeitra to Marrakesh high-speed railway line. Faced with the strict delivery deadline of September 2029, Chinese enterprises are leveraging the advantages of mechanized operations and precise schedule control to accelerate excavation, filling, and bridge substructure construction on a 430 kilometer long route.

Reshaping the North African transportation economy map

After its completion, this high-speed railway will shorten the travel time from Tangier to Marrakesh to 2 hours and 40 minutes, connecting the port, capital, financial center, and the host city of the World Cup. It is not only a transportation guarantee line for the event, but also through the transformation of the Casablanca six line hub, it thoroughly activates the Moroccan coastal industrial belt and injects lasting momentum into the economic integration of the North African region. Deeply cultivate the Belt and Road connectivity

As a North African country that signed the the Belt and Road Cooperation Plan with Morocco for the first time, the project is a microcosm of China's infrastructure standards and construction capacity deeply embedded in the local modernization process. By entering the subsequent station facilities, maintenance center, and southern extension of the Agadir section through the main line, Chinese enterprises are building a long-term foundation for the North African market with high-quality performance, achieving a two-way connection between facilities and people's hearts.Editor/Gao Xue
