South Section of East Baghdad Oilfield Project

According to reports, the southern section of the East Baghdad Oilfield Project was put into production in 2019. It is the first oilfield project in Baghdad and has important economic and social significance. ZhenHua Oil Dongba Petroleum Co., Ltd., as an oilfield operator, will continue to increase investment and increase crude oil production, with a view to making the crude oil production of the project reach 40,000 barrels per day in the near future. The signing of the general drilling service contract for 32 wells will stimulate the local economy and employment, and increase oil production capacity.

After the implementation of the contract, COSL Iraq Branch will start at least two drilling rigs and two logging trucks to operate simultaneously with the supporting logging technical team. The contract is expected to create more than 120 local jobs in drilling, transportation, material supply and logistics, which will effectively improve local people's livelihood and promote economic development.

The signing of this contract is the third time that COSL has won the operation contract of this block after the 27 well drilling general contracting service contract and the wireline logging and perforating service contract, which further consolidated the integration of COSL's drilling general contracting in Iraq The market share in the field of chemical services has laid a foundation for promoting the development of COSL's oil and gas cooperation in Iraq to a wider, deeper and higher level.
