On August 10, 2023, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Du Dewen, accompanied Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akerbek Zaparov to Chuhe Prefecture to inspect the China National Petroleum Project of Shaanxi Coal Group Central Asia Energy Company. Zaparov expressed appreciation for the long-term contributions made by Chinese enterprises.

The project leader of Zhongda Petroleum introduced the operation of the first phase project and the promotion of the second phase upgrade and transformation of Zhongda Petroleum. During the visit, Prime Minister Zaparov spoke highly of the positive contributions made by Zhongda Petroleum Company in promoting economic and trade, energy, people to people and cultural exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan and jointly building the the Belt and Road for more than 10 years, and gave full recognition to the second phase upgrading and reconstruction project of Zhongda Petroleum.

Prime Minister Zaparov stated that the development momentum of practical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China in various fields is good, and the prospects are bright. The China University Petroleum Project has helped to align the development strategies of Central Asian countries, promoted the economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods in Kyrgyzstan, and played an important role in the local development of Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz government will provide strong support in the supply of raw materials, product sales, tax incentives, reduction of foreign social security rates, tariff reduction of imported materials for the second phase of the project, design standards, and other matters for the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) project, and sign an investment agreement with CNPC.

Du Dewen said that at present, China Kyrgyzstan relations are at the best time in history. China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state at the Xi'an meeting, strengthen practical cooperation between the two sides in various fields, solidly promote high-quality cooperation to jointly build the the Belt and Road, and promote the building of a community of common destiny featuring good neighborliness, friendship, shared prosperity.Editor/Ma Xue
