The 8th China-Russia Expo, one of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia this year, will be held in Harbin, Heilongjiang province from May 16 to 21.

Liu Xuesong, director of the Eurasian Department of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced at the press conference that the China-Russia Expo is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, and will be held alternately in China and Russia. Since the first event in 2014, more than 7,200 Chinese and Russian enterprises and more than 1.05 million businessmen have participated in the event, signing a total of 446.8 billion yuan. With the theme of "Cooperation, Mutual trust and Opportunities", the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize representative enterprises to participate in the expo, and 16 subjects of the Russian Federation will also organize enterprises to participate in the expo, focusing on the exhibition of Russia's social and economic development and investment opportunities and cooperation projects, advantageous products and characteristics of humanities and other content, and will carry out extensive exchanges and negotiations with all sectors of the Chinese side.

Chen Shijun, president of the Heilongjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that the exhibition area is 388,000 square meters, with the main venue of Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center and four sub-venues. The main venue has five exhibition areas: Russia, International, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, cooperation between provinces, regions and central enterprises, Longjiang Revitalization, high-end equipment and machinery manufacturing and supporting services, and is expected to exhibit 10 fields, more than 20 categories, more than 5,000 kinds of products. Zhejiang Province is the guest of honor of the Chinese side, Moscow is the guest of honor of the Russian side and Harbin is the theme city of the Expo. It is expected that more than 120 Chinese and foreign delegations from 44 countries and regions will attend the meeting, and more than 5,000 registered international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan professional businessmen, more than 2,000 state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, cross-border e-commerce chain institutions and other business principals will attend the meeting and negotiate cooperation.

The fourth Russia-China Regional Cooperation Forum is a key event during the expo, which will be held on May 17, according to the Russian business representative in China Mikhail Dakhnovsky. Delegations from 25 Russian regions have confirmed their attendance at the event, 17 of which will be attended by the governors of the regions.

In recent years, the scale of China-Russia trade has been expanding and the structure of commodities has been optimized. In 2023, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia will reach 240.1 billion U.S. dollars, reaching the target of 200 billion U.S. dollars ahead of schedule. In the first quarter of this year, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia reached 56.68 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, maintaining a sound momentum of development.
