Amazon has become the world's leading corporate buyer of renewable energy through hundreds of direct offtake deals with clean energy developers in recent years and currently meets about 90% of its electricity needs through direct purchases of renewable energy.

The company claims that its global operations will be powered by 100% renewable electricity by 2025, supported by investments in more than 400 wind and solar projects around the world.
