The feasibility study preparation bidding for the 500MW offshore wind power project at the DL6 site of Three Gorges Energy in Dalian has officially started. The site is located in the Zhuanghe sea area, 43 to 53 kilometers offshore, with a water depth of 32 to 38 meters and an area of approximately 66 square kilometers. It is planned to have an installed capacity of 500MW and is equipped with an offshore booster station and an onshore centralized control center.

Dalian sea breeze adds another heavyweight project
Dalian is one of the regions with the best sea breeze resources in Northeast China. The DL6 site is approximately 12 kilometers long from east to west and spans about 11 kilometers from north to south, with a water depth of 32 to 38 meters, which happens to be within the applicable water depth range for fixed foundations in China's offshore wind power industry. The northwest side of the site is only 1.7 kilometers away from the Dandong Port Dalian route, and the southeast side is about 10.5 kilometers away from the Chengshanjiao Dandong route, with mature shipping conditions.
This is not the first investment of Three Gorges Energy in Dalian. By the end of 2025, the cumulative installed capacity of offshore wind power in China has exceeded 40 million kilowatts, with Liaoning contributing about 2.5 million kilowatts and Dalian accounting for more than half. The DL6 project has a capacity of 500MW, which is equivalent to adding another medium-sized wind farm to the Liaoning offshore wind map. After the completion of the project, the annual utilization hours are estimated to be 2800 hours, and the annual power generation is about 1.4 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the annual electricity demand of about 450000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.1 million tons annually.
A preliminary battle against time
The bidding requirements are extremely tight. Within 30 days after the contract is signed, the project proposal, approval application report, laser radar wind data collection, marine hydrological observation, marine environment investigation, land terrain measurement, and seabed terrain measurement - a total of seven preliminary works will be synchronously promoted. The coverage of underwater mapping extends 15 kilometers beyond the sea area, with a scale of 1:5000 in the near area and no less than 1:10000 in the far area, and the accuracy requirement is close to the level of construction drawings.

Within 60 days after project approval, complete the feasibility study report, preliminary geological survey, and all thematic preparations, and obtain approval through review. That is to say, the total construction period from contract signing to feasibility study approval shall not exceed 90 calendar days. Keywords: offshore wind power, new energy projects
In addition, the bidding also explicitly requires the special topic of wind turbine comparison and foundation selection to lock in the technical route for subsequent equipment procurement. The voltage level of the offshore boosting station is set at 220kV, and the centralized control center is located on land in Dalian, forming a standard configuration of offshore boosting and onshore centralized control.Editor/Cheng Liting
