On January 22, 2024, the construction of the North Section 4 of the Wuhan metropolitan area ring road project, invested and constructed by China Construction Second Engineering Bureau, held a groundbreaking ceremony in the Hong'an section.
The Wuhan Metropolitan Circle Expressway has a total length of 360 kilometers and passes through multiple cities including Wuhan, Ezhou, Xiaogan, Xianning, and Huanggang. It is a key project in the "14th Five Year Plan" for comprehensive transportation development in Hubei Province and also the sixth ring in the "Six Rings, 24 Shoots, and Multiple Links" high-speed road network in the "Wuhan Land and Space Overall Plan (2021-2035)".
The Huangpi to Xinzhou section of the Wuhan Metropolitan Circle Expressway, located in the northern section, starts from Huangpi District, Wuhan City, connects with the Xiaogan northern section of the Wuhan Metropolitan Circle Expressway, and ends in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City to the east. It is connected to the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge and its connecting project of the Xingang Expressway, with a total length of 66.084 kilometers. It is constructed according to the standard of a two-way 6-lane expressway, and is designed to reach a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

Among them, the 4th section of the construction line of the Huangpi to Xinzhou section of the Wuhan Urban Circle Expressway, constructed by the Huazhong Company of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau, is the longest section of the construction line, with a total investment of nearly 4 billion yuan. It starts from Guanyintang Village, Wangjiahe Street, Huangpi District, Wuhan City and ends at Liuji on the west side of Zhucheng in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City. The project spans three administrative regions of Huangpi, Hong'an, and Xinzhou in Hubei Province, with a total length of approximately 31.65 kilometers. The line spans plains, hills, and multiple existing roads, with characteristics such as a high proportion of bridges, long construction access roads, and multiple water and river crossing points.
Since the establishment of the project, China Construction Second Engineering Bureau has attached great importance to it, quickly organized personnel to enter the site, actively connected with government functional departments and property rights units at all levels, and promoted the acceleration of various procedures and demolition work. At the same time, we will conduct in-depth analysis of project characteristics, comprehensively plan from a high starting point in design optimization, technological innovation, business procurement, intelligent construction, and other aspects, promote project high standard start, high-quality management, and lay a solid foundation for ensuring the smooth commencement of the project.
