Swedish solar photovoltaic manufacturing startup NordcellGroup has made a major announcement, announcing that it will build a solar module factory in Sweden, which will have an annual capacity of 1.2GW. The plant, called GIGAONE, is expected to be able to produce up to 2.5 million solar panels per year, which will undoubtedly inject new vitality into the clean energy sector in Sweden and around the world.

NordcellGroup said that the construction of GIGAONE is not only the establishment of a production site, but also their firm commitment to create the world's most environmentally friendly solar module factory. In order to ensure the efficient operation and sustainable development of the plant, they will use 100% non-fossil energy green energy to power the plant. This concept of environmental protection runs through the entire production process of the plant, from the preparation of polysilicon and silicon wafers, to the manufacturing of batteries, and then to the assembly of components, Nordcell is committed to achieving green and low-carbon production methods.

It is worth mentioning that the NordcellGroup project has been strongly supported by the famous German solar energy research institute FraunhoferISE. Dr. JochenRentsch, Head of the Photovoltaic Technology Transfer department at FraunhoferISE, said: "Our collaboration with Nordcell began at an early stage with the launch of a Life cycle assessment (LCA) aimed at an in-depth analysis of the environmental impact of the production process. Through this collaboration, we recognize that Sweden has a significant global advantage in reducing the carbon footprint of photovoltaic production, which gives us confidence in the future of the GIGAONE plant."

In addition to the collaboration with FraunhoferISE, Nordcell is also actively seeking cooperation with other leading international scientific research institutions and technology providers, aiming to bring the most advanced solar technology to the GIGAONE plant for efficient and environmentally friendly production.

NordcellGroup has a strong passion for circular production and believes that through continuous optimization of production processes and technological innovation, carbon emissions in the production process can be significantly reduced. To that end, they have set an ambitious goal: to reduce their carbon footprint by 90% by 2030. The achievement of this goal will not only make Nordcell the most environmentally friendly photovoltaic producer in the world, but will also set a new benchmark for the development of clean energy globally.

Looking ahead, with the completion and commissioning of the GIGAONE plant, NordcellGroup is expected to have a significant position in the global solar PV market. At the same time, their environmental protection concept and innovative spirit will also inspire more enterprises to join the ranks of clean energy, and jointly promote the transformation and sustainable development of the global energy structure.
