On April 2, 2024, the rotor hoisting work of the first generator unit at the Ninghai Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhejiang Province was successfully completed, marking another important milestone in the installation process of the first unit. This successful lifting not only showcases the efficient collaboration and exquisite skills of the project team, but also marks the beginning of the countdown phase for the first unit's power generation.

The first unit of Ninghai pumping and storage adopts a dedicated balance beam combined with two 300 ton bridge cranes for joint lifting of the rotor. The total lifting weight of the rotor is about 450 tons, making it the largest lifting component in the electromechanical equipment of the power station.

The Ninghai Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province. It is a key construction project in the 13th Five Year Plan of the National Energy Administration, a key project in Zhejiang Province, and the first large-scale pumped storage power station in Ningbo City. The total investment of the power station is about 7.95 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts. It is equipped with four 350000 kilowatt reversible hydroelectric generator units, with a designed annual average power generation of 1.4 billion kilowatt hours and an annual pumping capacity of 1.867 billion kilowatt hours. After completion, it will mainly undertake tasks such as peak shaving, frequency regulation, energy storage, and rotational backup of the Zhejiang power grid.
