On April 2, a landmark event took place at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport. A cargo plane from Hong Kong loaded with 24.5 tons of cargo landed steadily at the airport, marking the official opening of the two-way cargo charter flight route from Lanzhou to Hong Kong. The route operates with a weekly frequency and is expected to carry out up to 34 flights throughout the year. The opening of this route not only promotes trade between Gansu Province and Hong Kong, but also injects new vitality into the logistics development of Gansu Province and even the entire western region.

The routes carry a wide variety of cargo types, including electronic products, daily necessities and accessories. It is particularly worth mentioning that some imported goods will be transferred at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport and then transported to Almaty, Tashkent and other Central and Western Asia by international charter flights, further broadening Gansu Province’s international trade channels and strengthening ties with Central Asia. regional economic and trade ties.

In recent years, Gansu Province has made remarkable achievements in the layout of route network. Not only has it opened international cargo routes from Lanzhou to Moscow, Novosibirsk, Almaty, Tashkent, Auckland, etc., it has also actively cooperated with major airlines to continuously expand route networks and improve transportation capabilities. At the same time, relying on the advantages of a dense route network, efficient customs clearance, and complete port functions, the types of imported and exported goods in Gansu Province have become increasingly rich, starting from equipment and clothing and gradually expanding to lithium battery-containing goods, cross-border e-commerce goods, and refrigerated goods.
