On March 2, 2025, China News Network reported that the Xi'an Port in Kazakhstan has been in operation for one year since its commissioning on February 28, 2024. The terminal is located at Xi'an Huba International Port. In the past year of operation, it has accumulated and transported over 150000 tons of goods, significantly improving the gathering and distribution capabilities of goods between China and Kazakhstan. It provides high-quality services for import, export, and transit goods, and offers more opportunities for cooperation for enterprises in international trade.

In 2024, the China Europe freight train (Xi'an) will transport 76404 TEUs in the Central Asia direction, an increase of 47.6% compared to the same period in 2023. The operation of the Xi'an Port in Kazakhstan not only improves the efficiency of cargo transportation, but also promotes "hard connectivity" through facility upgrades, and achieves "soft connectivity" through data sharing. The large-scale circulation of goods, funds, technology, and personnel helps enterprises achieve "heart connectivity" and collaboratively promotes high-quality development.

The deep cooperation between Xi'an Port and Kazakhstan State owned Railway Company has significantly reduced the communication costs between the two sides, further compressing the time for customs clearance inspection, port replacement, approval and other links. Li Xiang, Deputy General Manager of Xi'an Pufit International Logistics Co., Ltd., stated that since cooperating with Xi'an Port in Kazakhstan, the port loading and unloading time has increased from the previous 3 to 4 days to about 3 hours on the same day. There has been a qualitative leap in various aspects such as cargo loading and transportation, which has helped the company expand more business.

The transformation and upgrading of full process digital services also provide support for efficiency improvement. By building a digital platform to achieve data interconnection and real-time sharing of key document information through the cloud, real-time linkage between the container loading and unloading areas of Kazakhstan Xi'an Port and Xi'an International Port Station has been achieved, and a smart container dispatch system of "on-demand" has been constructed. Relying on the intelligent booking platform of China Europe freight trains, customers only need to submit complete information online, and domestic and foreign railway departments and customs agencies can collaborate online to handle business, greatly reducing the review cycle of railway transportation documents and overall logistics costs.

The operation of Kazakhstan's Xi'an Terminal not only contributes to the "acceleration road" of China Europe Express (Xi'an), but also facilitates the trade between China and the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road", promoting economic prosperity and development. In the future, Xi'an Port will continue to deepen its cooperation with Kazakhstan Railway Corporation and other companies, promote the high-quality development of China Europe regular trains, and contribute more to the deep integration of the "the Belt and Road" pattern.
