On April 3, 2024, the Minister of Energy and Mining of Laos, Pausai Saiyasong, the deputy general manager of the Lao Electric Power Company (EDL), Fengbasi Peisisu, and the general manager of China Southern Power Grid Yunnan International Company, CAI Baorui, visited the site to inspect the Nanping West photovoltaic project in Puersimao District, which was contracted by the Yunnan Institute of China National Power Engineering.

At the project site, Posai Saiyasong made detailed inquiries and understandings on the agricultural and light complementary investment construction mode, technical plan, policy formulation boundary, encouragement mechanism, benefit sharing mechanism with farmers, late operation and maintenance, agricultural irrigation and other aspects, expressed high recognition of the project, and expressed the hope of strengthening follow-up cooperation with Yunnan Institute.

During the exchange and discussion, Posai Saiyasong expressed his sincere congratulations to Yunnan Institute for its remarkable achievements in the field of new energy in recent years, and expressed his deep gratitude to Yunnan Institute for its long-term great contribution to the economic development of Laos. He expected that Yunnan Institute, as an important partner of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Laos, would actively participate in PV + agriculture related projects in Laos while stably promoting the traditional power market, continue to inject vitality into the economic development of Laos, bring benefits to the local people, and contribute more to the deep integration and win-win development of China and Laos. Poisay Saijasong also stressed that the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines will, as always, support Yunnan Institute to play an important role in the economic and social development of Laos, and wish Yunnan Institute to achieve more brilliant achievements in the future development.

Yunnan Institute and Pu 'er City cooperated to promote the construction of tea and light complementary projects, achieved the dialectical unity of economic benefits and ecological environmental protection, and promoted the transformation of local green energy resource advantages into power supply advantages and regional development advantages. It is hoped that in the future, we will strengthen new energy cooperation with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Laos, actively promote the implementation of the agro-optical complementary project, and help the economic and social development of Laos.

Nanping West photovoltaic project is invested by China Energy Construction China Power Engineering, China Power Engineering Yunnan Institute of equity investment and general contract construction, is the first full-capacity grid-connected tea light complementary project in Puer City, Yunnan province. The installed capacity of the project is 60MW, which is built in a shrub tea garden with high economic value. In order to maximize the interests of tea farmers and ensure win-win development, the project innovatively adopts the layout of large spacing, high support and single row of components. For the development of tea and light complementary projects in Pu 'er City and even Yunnan Province, it has played a positive demonstration role and set a new benchmark.

The project cleverly combines photovoltaic construction with agricultural planting, and innovatively adopts the tea-light complementary model according to local conditions, that is, the upper space is used for photovoltaic power generation, and the lower space is used for tea planting. The implementation of this model has not only successfully integrated photovoltaic power generation with efficient agriculture, but also significantly improved the comprehensive utilization rate of land. Through this initiative, the advantages of green energy have been successfully transformed into a strong driving force for promoting economic development, and new vitality has been injected into rural revitalization. More importantly, this model realizes the harmonious coexistence of economic benefits and environmental protection, becoming a real win-win model. The successful completion and operation of the project has played a crucial role in promoting the rapid transformation of the local energy structure, the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system, and the realization of the dual-carbon goal.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
