SK Ecoplant, a subsidiary of SK Group, a leading global energy technology company, has announced that it will join hands with BCG Energy, a subsidiary of Vietnam's Bamboo Capital Group, to jointly develop a massive 700 MW solar and wind power project in Vietnam. The move marks a new level of cooperation between the two companies in the field of renewable energy, while also injecting strong momentum into Vietnam's energy structure transformation.

SK Ecoplant and BCG Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation and development of renewable energy business in Vietnam. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop a total of 700 megawatts of renewable energy projects including 300 megawatts of onshore wind, 300 megawatts of rooftop solar and 100 megawatts of terrestrial solar. This project will not only strongly promote the development of renewable energy in Vietnam, but also provide clean and efficient energy support for local economic and social development.

As one of the main participants in the project, SK Ecoplant plans to be fully involved in the development, construction and operation of the project from the initial stage of business. The company will use its rich experience and technical advantages to provide a strong guarantee for the smooth implementation of the project. At the same time, SK Ecoplant will also work to secure carbon emission credits for the project to further promote global efforts to combat climate change.

It is worth mentioning that SK Ecoplant has achieved remarkable results in the development of clean energy in Vietnam. In 2021, the company successfully completed the clean energy development system project registration under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This mechanism enables SK Ecoplant to obtain carbon emission credits from the United Nations, which can be used to offset the company's own greenhouse gas emissions or sold to other companies, thus achieving both economic and environmental benefits.

The cooperation with BCG Energy will further consolidate SK Ecoplant's leading position in the renewable energy market in Vietnam and globally. In the future, the two sides will continue to deepen cooperation, explore more high-potential renewable energy projects, and make positive contributions to the construction of a clean, low-carbon and efficient energy system. At the same time, this will also inject new vitality into the development of renewable energy in Vietnam and the world, and promote the green transformation of the global energy structure.
