On the afternoon of April 6, 2024, with the four guiding cone accurately inserted into the steel pipe pile legs, the first piece of the superstructure of the CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan 400 MW offshore photovoltaic project was successfully completed, marking that China's first large-scale offshore pile fixed offshore photovoltaic project officially entered the stage of comprehensive lifting, and sounded the vanguard signal of full capacity grid connection.

The project is located in the Laizhou Bay sea area in the north of Zhaoyuan City, which is the deepest, the most difficult to construct and the most complex project in the first ten offshore photovoltaic projects in Shandong Province. The project consists of 121 photovoltaic sub-arrays, with a total planned area of about 6.44 square kilometers, the site is about 2.0 kilometers away from the coastline, the farthest distance is about 6.2 kilometers, and the water depth of the site area is about 8.5 to 11 meters.

The superstructure is 69.3 meters long, 37.3 meters wide, and its highest point is 17.3 meters from the sea level, with a capacity of about 0.59 megawatts, weighing about 120 tons, and installing 1492 rods of various sizes, 832 photovoltaic modules, and 389 welding balls of different sizes. Superstructure design, assembly, turning over, anti-corrosion system and Marine transportation and lifting scheme through multiple optimization iterations and collaborative innovation of construction technology.

This project, in collaboration with Tongji University, Chongqing University and other universities to carry out science and innovation exchanges, overcome a number of technical problems, formed a complete set of technology system for the construction of offshore photovoltaic projects in the near shallow sea, and provided practical and applicable development and construction solutions for other offshore photovoltaic projects of the same type in the country, with good replicability and promotion value.
