According to the latest forecast of the Brazilian National Electricity Authority (ANEEL), by 2030, the photovoltaic power generation industry in Bahia will usher in an unprecedented boom. It is expected that 634 PV projects will become operational in the state, with a total installed capacity of significantly more than 27 GW, setting a new milestone in the development of clean energy in Brazil and throughout South America.

Behind this forecast is the strong commitment and strong support of the state government of Bahia for renewable energy. In recent years, the state has not only actively attracted domestic and foreign investment, but also encouraged the development of the photovoltaic industry through a series of policies. According to the data provided by the Economic Development Department of Bahia state, there are currently 71 photovoltaic power generation projects in operation in the state, which not only attracted up to 9 billion reais (about $1.774 billion) of investment, but also directly created 62,000 jobs and injected strong momentum into the local economy.

What is more exciting is that there are 563 photovoltaic power generation projects under construction or about to be built in Bahia. The total investment in these projects is expected to reach a staggering 90.3 billion reais ($17.794 billion) and will bring 750,000 new jobs to the state. This will not only greatly boost the economic development of Bahia, but also provide more employment opportunities for local residents and improve the standard of living.

In addition, the state of Bahia has also made remarkable achievements in the field of distributed photovoltaic power generation. At present, 417 cities in the state have achieved the coverage of distributed photovoltaic power generation units, with a total installed capacity of 1.28 GW. Distributed generation has become an important part of clean energy in the state, accounting for about 63 percent of centralized generation. In distributed power generation, micro-power generation occupies a dominant position with its high flexibility and low investment threshold, accounting for about 94%, while small-scale power generation accounts for about 6%.

Bahia's photovoltaic power generation industry is showing a booming trend. With the advancement of technology and the support of policies, more and more photovoltaic power generation projects in the state will emerge in the future, injecting new vitality into the local economic and social development. At the same time, this will also provide useful reference for the development of global clean energy. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
