On May 8, 2024, Zhejiang ushered in an important milestone, the first key 500 kV kurtosis summer project of this summer, Jiande Substation was officially put into operation. This substation is the 10th 500 kV substation in Hangzhou, marking Hangzhou as the first city in Zhejiang province to have ten such substations.

Jiande, a city located in the mountainous region of western Zhejiang Province, demonstrated its respect and integration of local culture during the construction and design phase of the 500Kv substation. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power decided to adopt Jiangnan Hui style of architecture, the blue and white porcelain, blue brick and white tile, horse head wall and other classic elements cleverly integrated into the building of the substation, so that it and the landscape environment complement each other, showing a unique charm.

In view of the fact that the project is located in the important ecological economic circle of Xinanjiang-Fuchunjiang-Qiandao Lake, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power realized that it is of great significance to promote the green and low-carbon development of Jiande 500 kV transmission and transformation project for the power industry to transform the concept of ecological civilization construction. Therefore, they are determined to run the concept of green development through every link of the power transmission and transformation project construction, including green planning, green design, green construction and green handover, to ensure that the project truly becomes a green and environmental protection benchmark project.

Every detail in the construction process reflects the profound consideration of environmental protection and energy saving. In the selection of wall materials, the construction of integrated cement fiber wallboard not only ensures the construction quality, but also ensures the green environmental protection of the construction process. The transformer is selected with low energy consumption and low noise, and its energy consumption control level has reached the national secondary energy efficiency standard, effectively reducing the operating cost.

The substation is also carefully equipped with the following water storage facilities such as hollow green space, grass protection slope, permeable floor, etc. These facilities not only improve the landscape effect of the substation, but also make more efficient use of rainwater resources for greening irrigation and site sprinkling and dust reduction, which is expected to save up to 3200 cubic meters of water. The design of the tower also adopts a high-low leg method, which greatly reduces the excavation of the foundation surface, and up to 89% of the bases along the line are made of undisturbed soil foundation, which protects the ecological environment to the greatest extent. In addition, the application of energy-saving wires with high conductivity can save 70,000 degrees of electric energy per kilometer of wires per year, showing the intelligence and efficiency of power engineering.

With the successful completion of the project, it will significantly enhance the ability of clean energy delivery and consumption in southwest Zhejiang, and provide an important power delivery channel for Jiande Wulongshan pumped storage power station. Looking to the future, more green electricity will be delivered to thousands of households through this powerful grid system, bringing cleaner and more efficient energy supplies to people's lives. Hangzhou already has nine 500 kV substations, including Qiaosi change, Yongchao Change, Fuyang Change, etc., which together build a strong grid pattern of cross-river connection and east-west mutual benefit, laying a solid foundation for Hangzhou's future power grid planning of five sources, two with three rings.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
