Angola Branch of China Energy Engineering Guangxi Engineering Bureau successfully won the bid for the general contracting project of rehabilitation construction of Contado Hydropower Plant in the Democratic Republic of  Sao Tome and Principe.

The project is located in the northwest of Sao Tome Island, and the main construction content includes renovating and upgrading some infrastructure, replacing pressure pipelines, and increasing the installed power of the power plant. The power plant has played an important role in alleviating the power supply and demand contradiction on Sao Tome Island and ensuring stable power supply. However, after 57 years of operation and use, the facilities and equipment of the power plant have deteriorated severely.
