The flower of Dunhuang blooms - Chang Shana's 80-year art and design journey was grandly opened at the China Art Museum of Arts and Crafts and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. The 93-year-old art master Chang Shana once again became the focus of the public.
At the exhibition site, 93-year-old Ms. Chang Shana had a warm and affectionate smile on her face when she mentioned the challenging and rewarding teenage years she spent in Dunhuang. In the 1940s, when she was only 12 years old, she entered this mysterious and majestic desert city with her father Chang Shuhong (1904-1994), the founding director of the Dunhuang Academy.
In that vast desert, she fought side by side with her father, dedicated to copying and protecting the precious murals and Buddhist statues in the Mogao Grottoes. It was this experience that not only tempered her perseverance, but also planted a deep emotion for Dunhuang art in her heart.
Today, this love and persistence for Dunhuang has been integrated into her blood and has become the eternal theme of her artistic creation. Through her works, we can feel the eternal beauty of Dunhuang and her respect and inheritance of traditional art.
This traveling exhibition "The Eternal Beauty of Dunhuang" is not only a review and tribute to Ms. Chang Shana's artistic career, but also a wonderful presentation of Dunhuang art. Let us enter this charming art world together and experience the unique charm and profound connotation of Dunhuang culture.Editor/Cheng Ting
