According to reports, in accordance with the consensus reached by Turkmen President Serdar Berdymuhamedov during his visit to China in January last year on the "mutual holding of cultural Year activities", China will hold a series of Turkmen cultural Year activities in July 2024. The event was held to further enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples in the context of the elevation of China-Turkey relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
A variety of cultural performances, exhibitions, seminars and other activities are expected to be held. These activities will cover the fields of Turkmen literature, art, history, folklore and other fields, and showcase the cultural characteristics of Turkmenistan in an all-round way.
Turkish Foreign Minister Meredov made the announcement at a government meeting held a few days ago, where he presented a report on measures to develop relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Meredov introduced the package of documents to strengthen the legal framework of strategic cooperation between China and Turkey and proposed to organize bilateral inter-ministerial consultations in the second half of the year to discuss issues in this field.
At the same time, holding the event is also an important measure to implement the consensus of the leaders of the two countries on strengthening cultural exchanges and cooperation, and is of great significance to promoting the in-depth development of China-Turkey comprehensive strategic partnership.
